At MN Roofing Contractors, we specialize in commercial roof repair and restoration. We take pride in representing property owners during the hail and storm damage insurance claim process. When severe weather hits the roof of your commercial building, minimizing damage to the roof and mechanical equipment are a high priority. An inspection can reveal visible punctures to the membrane which can cause leaks, mold and even structural damage.
Commercial roof hail damage can be detrimental to the structure of your property. We recommend having a professional thoroughly inspect your roof for signs of damage after a hailstorm. Contractors and building owners need to know what to look for and what to do with the damage in order to save time and money.
What should you look for?
• Punctures: The most apparent damage flat roofs suffer from hail stones are punctures. Puncture marks will look like small divots or depressions on the surface of your roof's membrane. Hailstone impact will usually displace protective surfacing such as gravel, ceramic granules or reflective coatings. These punctures lead to leaks and insulation damage if gone unnoticed or improperly repaired.
• Damage and Denting: You’ll typically notice denting on metal work or mounted fixtures around the edges of your roof. Damage can also occur on your mechanical and HVAC systems located on the roof. If you’re noticing damage to these areas there is a good chance that your flat roofing system could be compromised.
